Hi. The author of all maps became "pHqghUme", Googling it makes it seem like it's some kind of a default name in databases. All this happened probably due to a database error. But still, allowing anyone to change the metadata of any map is a disaster waiting to happen.

pHqghUme is also a name of a virus when under the form of an exe-file. Following info is copied from a website: "it allows attackers to remotely access the computer to take sensitive data including passwords and banking information."

Yes, I have an old SQL dump, I can restore author, category, etc of a large part of maps. But, yeah, it's old. Not sure how many news maps have been added since then. Better than nothing.

Looking at the dump, I can restore almost 100k maps. Will see if I can fix the security hole as well.

I think the site previously automatically assigned the author based on what it read in the readme? like inputing the string that came right after the first "by", at least that was my impression

I'm planning to use the several sources of reverse-engineered cs 1.6 source code, to make my own cs 1.7, with modernized gameplay mechanics, truckloads more guns, all the best maps, and different factions and guns per map. This is why I've been struggling to download everything here for the past 5 years, so I can then go trough it and select all the best maps for my cs 1.7

Before Arkshine restricted editing I mistakingly put this map as a system map.
I'm not 100% sure it actually is since I don't have cz installed to check.

I'm planning to edit author for those 1630 maps as long as I can find a name in the txt-file ofcourse.
I can do this while @ work when my machines are running ( I have a pc at my workplace ).

There are people here that probably deserve this title ( moderator ) more than I do, simply because of their overall experience being more than mine.
As long as I can edit stuff it's ok to be just advanced user but if you want to keep me as moderator it's also fine

@Arkshine: A bunch of mainscreens seem to have disappeared. Must have happened after you set the Edit function to advanced users & moderators only, because the day before yesterday I set most vanilla maps back tot system map and the mainscreens were still there.
