Carousel (March 21, 2005)
A small tourney map, best suited for 2v2/3v3 matches.
Credits:
Built and designed by B. Loboda (slipi) and Miika Lipasti (Pyroquantre). Production stage reviews by Mars Jokela (ginsengavenger) and Uwe Lange (Boblem). The final version was compiled based on the reviews of public beta by Ikka Keranen (Fingers), Andrew Baker (eskimo spy), Kev Edwards (keved) and Joshua Sierra (ShapeShifta). With additional suggestions and bug reports from Tom Edwards (Varsity) and M|k33[K-9]. And finally, props to early adopters - Jason Holton (BadAss Nox), Richard Welp (Kellis), G.P. (VAFFA|OpT1MaL) and Juim, thanks for getting it to the masses.
Changelog:
- Removed Crossbow for its ineffectiveness
- Switched to a more clear water shader for play area and a cheap version for 3D Skybox
- Added Slam pickup at the garage and alley
- Increased fog distance for more subtle effect
- Combined Shotgun and Health Kit/Battery pickups inside the barge
- Added hints and occluders for overall performance gain
- Changed the rock material to one that is less costly but more fitting
- Expanded the central building to cover elevator doors and barge entrance (improved flow)
- Switched the alert sound for elevator to one that is available in Source DS installation
- Configured the elevator doors to open full-length to avoid stacking
- Removed manual clipping around the map to let physical objects travel further outside; all leaving objects are teleported back into play area at predefined locations
- Weakened the intensity of red light by the stairs from bunker
- Switched places of RPG and Magnum for better balance
- Increased global lighting brightness and switched its ambient to a more natural grayscale

* Version 0.1 - Beta, first release:
- This is the first release of the map, my tests with bots show it is working though
several adjusments should be made for improvment.
Known issues:
- Bots lag the map seriously.
- Hostages require some guidence in order not to lose them on your way.
- Bridge might cause some problems.
I would like comments on FPS issues in the map (Runs fine on my Ti4200, with fps

- Bridge made static, I was dreaming anyway.
- Added some clip brushes to prevent players from getting stuck in walls in the middle of firefights.
- Bots still lag, if anyone could point a solution it would be nice.
- Fixed some bad texture alignments.
- Edit nav area names in radar map, sorry for the silly names, they're are limited to what's available.
- Removed the func_dustmotes in the meanwhile because they were causing a bug that made all the muzzle flashes, smoke and explosions invisible.
* Version 0.3 - Beta
- Added occluders, FPS is up to 15% higher in some critical spots, but more than that I couldn't do.
- Nav file fixed, it's not 400k instead of 2MB and fixes hostage movement (They won't dance around the garage and follow better in the woods) and also eliminates the bot lag. Bots can now be added freely (Well, as free as in any other map) and they now know the paths to all hostages and the path from the overpass (Though, they're don't seem to use it)
- Fixed the rocks that were standing in air on the ledge of the cliff
- Blocked some areas that let you get on the cliffs (Spe(...)

* Install Help *
Copy the "cstrike" folder in to the following directory.
(this could be different depending on where you installed Steam®)
X:..........steamsteamapps"username"counter-strike source
Windows will ask you if you want to overwrite the folders,
you must click "Yes to all" in order to install this map.
When you have done that the map is installed and you can play it.
Have fun.

@Arkshine: de_basalt is a whooping 462M, it won't go down below 250M even with ultra compression, it uses a ton of models and has a large out of bounds area, it's not your normal CSGO map no, but it's an official map, its CS2 version is even larger reaching 2GB but that's irrelevant since the site doesn't have a CS2 category
