Its been a while science Ive done any half-life based mapping but after
checking out the new things in the editor I found myself being sucked back
into it. Its been a while so I set myself the task of restoring a classic map
from the N64 days. I managed to pick up a N64 for 15 quid with Golden Eye
second hand.
I spent a lot of time playing Golden Eye to make sure things were geometrically
correct for the Half-Life 2 Death match version, visually I changed things a
little such as lighting and the textures and some props. I have no intentions to
add any extras (more rooms ect ect) and to keep to the form of the original map.
I don't know if anyones doing the same map and I apologies if I have stepped on
peoples toes in the process.

A large map set in an abandoned motel-like building. This map should be good for 12-18 players
and includes gameplay inside and around the "motel". The main hall on the ground floor is usually
the center of the action with its multiple entry/exit points, and vertical gameplay with the attic
above. The map also includes a basement/laundry area accessible from the main floor or through a
sewer pipe from the small parking lot outside. Have fun!

Addition of soundscapes.
Cubemaps optimized.
Brushwork in basement optimized.
Water reflection bug in sewer fixed.

Notes about the map: Nothing special about the map, just the valve deathmatch map
contest entry. At some points the world polys will get a little high and reduce the
frame rate from a average of 100-120 to 50's range, but I think it is all worth it to
look at the beauty of the map, please take notice of the shadows, as it added a lot of
time for my computer to compile the light (apox: 2 1/2 hours).
Secrets/easter eggs: none, although many may not realize that you can shoot and pull
down the clocks in the stations and use them as weapons.
Please note that since that the package contained both contest enties they are entirely
separate, we split the cost of shipping the maps together, rather than paying for two
FedEX deliveries.

This is the final version of dm_cabin, a 'rats' scaled level suitable for 2 to 5 players. Plenty of weapons and stuff to throw around. Fierce battles and sometimes a crossbow bolt from a dark place.
Version changes:
Added 3d skybox.
Filled the sink with water, so no more panicky grabbing a barrel so I can get out before someone lobs a frag in here.
Added the outhouse. Nobody enjoys going there, but sometimes, you just have to.

This is a cooperative map for half-life2 deathmatch.
You'll probable think "I've seen others and they make half-life crash!". WRONG! When you kill an npc it'll dissapear into dust. This way server and client has much better performance and will not crash!
I hope you'll enjoy the map, in the meantime i start working on the second map.

doing alot of stuff around here atm, being in dystopia and all takes all my time.
You get to fling a bunch of rocks and slams if ya can over the enemy wall, its team based,
so make sure your server is setup for team play, sorry i cant remember the command, but you
could find it over at www.hl2world.com

Tout le monde connaît aztec, ben c’est la même, exactement la même. Enfin presque, toutes les textures on été changées, et pour le coup la map prend un solide coup de jeune, et, est nettement plus jolie comme cela.
Le mappeur a juste ajouté quelques petits détail, vraiment minime, mais qui apporteront un plus au game play ,si vous aimez aztec, il faut l essayer….
