In late 1944 Germany was clearly losing the war. The Russian Red Army was
steadily closing in on the Eastern front while German cities were being
devastated by intense Allied bombing. The Italian peninsula had been
captured and liberated, and the Allied armies were advancing rapidly
through France and the Low Countries. The end was near if something couldn't
be done to slow the Allied advance.
That something became known as the Ardennes Offensive,
the Battle of the Bulge. In a last desperate move to
turn the tides of war in Germany's favor, Hitler
launched the last German offensive in a push to capture
Antwerp through the Ardennes in the largest land battle of WWII.
At 5:30 A.M. on December 6, 1944 eight German armored
divisions and thirteen German infantry divisions launched
an all out attack on five divisions of the United States
1st Army. Between the 5th and 6th Panzer armies which
equaled eleven divisions they broke into the Ardennes
through the Loshein Gap against the American divisions
protecting the region.

story line:
15 decembre 1944, the Germans are about to launch a massive offensive
in the Ardense forest. Before they actually launch it, they sended
paratroopers behind the enemy lines to take control of a bridge.
The German paratroopers are being dropped behind the town in an open field.
The day before Brittish soldiers secured the town and putted their defenses
in the woods. So now the town is unsecured, the Brittish got to get back
to their original positions to prevent the Germans capping the town and
securing the bridge so the tanks can come over.
Allied objectives:
Capture all 5 points
Axis objectives:
Capture all 5 poins
Notes:
-The bridge is a capture area wich requires 2 people to cap.
-Each team has 2 rocket weapons to create shortcuts in the map.
-Anti-spawn protection is active!

Allies:
Your mission is to seize this small village which serves as the main mountain
crossroads for German supplies. Due to the remote location of the village and its
distance inland, shore bombardment of the area was not available.
Axis:
Keeping this small village could prove a vital key in repelling the Allied
invasion that is spreading like wildfire throughout the Medittaranean and North
African fronts. Cretian airbases are key to keeping pressure on Allied forces
and the Suez canal.

The Battle of the Bulge began with the German attack (Operation Wacht am Rhein and
the Herbstnebel plan) on the morning of December 16, 1944. Two later attacks on
New Year's Day 1945 attempted to create second fronts in Holland (Operation Schneeman)
and in northern France (Operation Nordwind).
It's now december the 25th,
CHRISTMASS EVE, SAINT VITH
The Allied troops hoped to win the war before Christmass.
Unfortunatly, the Allied forces are still battling for keypositions in France.
All soldiers of the 82nd Airborne Division are promissed to celebrate christmass at
their own homes...

After days of bombing the weakened German troops are nervously awaiting a raid from
the 82nd Airborne Division. Their only hope is to hold strong against the Americans
and to make sure nothing happens to the King Tiger untill they get orders to leave
St. Vith and to meet up with the Fifth Panzer Army.
OBJECTIVES

- Destroy the King Tiger and eliminate every resistance found.
AXIS
- Hold St. Vith untill orders are given to meet up with the Fifth Panzer Army;

@Arkshine: de_basalt is a whooping 462M, it won't go down below 250M even with ultra compression, it uses a ton of models and has a large out of bounds area, it's not your normal CSGO map no, but it's an official map, its CS2 version is even larger reaching 2GB but that's irrelevant since the site doesn't have a CS2 category
