A Map for HL2: Deathmatch
This is the first beta version of map dm_forestfortress (name may change in the future).
There probably are bugs and this map and it was only released to find them.
I haven't tested this map on linux servers so I don't know if it works or not.
Note: This is not the final version, but there will be final version with bugs fixed and more detail added.

To start off, this map is a big map to move around and throw grenades at one another.

To be fair and to have a fun, please don't use the weapons such as Pistol and sub-machinegun. just so you don't get kicked from admin and not to tick off other players who play the map right. Soon there will be version where you only spawn with gravity gun. That will be in v2.

Instructions
- Extract maps to half-life 2 deathmatchhl2mp
Beta 6
- The first release. Some little bugs here and there, but definately playable, to say the least.
- Rumors of some bugs concerning the canal water. Can't really deny or confirm.
- Entered this version into Valve's HL2DM map competition.
Features
- Dynamic canal locks: In the central tower, there's a balcony with a button. Pushing it will trigger an alarm, warning people to get off the canal locks. After a short pause, the canal locks will open or close.
- Dynamic water: In the central canal area, there's a sewer. Follow the pipes back to a valve, where you can control the water level.
- Dynamic crane: In the warehouse, there's a small control room with a lever. Pulling it will move the crane-magnet back and forth. You can use it to kill people on the catwalk or to use as a platform for jumping.
- Teleporter: On opposite sides of the map lies resistance hideouts. Each hideout has a teleporter that can be used to teleport between them.

My first map, but it took me more than a few hours to give it some special looks,
and the open level design I was trying to make.
Normally there was much more glass like one of the two towers and the bridges but because of low framerates
I changed it.

About the map: My first serious map on the Source engine. Started off as a basic faceoff between two identical facilities but was later
changed into what you are about to play. It was supposed to be entered into the Map Making Contest but I withdrew due to time constraints.

Time Taken: Close to 2 weeks, hard to remember through all the frustration.
Final Compile Time: 1 hour.. I think... I got bored watching the dots...
Background Story: A small port off the coast of city 17, once home to bums and a few scattered families who have
since been either killed or joined the combine, now all thats left is a few rotting docks, and the home of an
unknown family. (wow this story is really stupid I'll just stop now, wtf does it matter, just kill eachother.)

This is a map with 3 arenas.
You start in the lobby with only the physgun.
Now you can choose between the 3 arenas or just watch the
fights without getting harmed
The arenas:
Blue Arena:
starting weapons: Physgun
This is a Physgun only arena with a deadly big rotating
blade and objects to throw.
Red Arena:
starting weapons: Pistol
A little part of a city with weapons.
no health or armor pickups just fighting to the death.
Yellow Arena:
starting weapons: Physgun, Pistol, Machinegun
a fast and high arena with jump pads and a combine ball
