Info: This is a remake of the infamous HL1 deathmatch map "killbox".
Now I know there are already a few remakes of it but I took a bit of a
different approach. I tried to make it look a little better and a little
more realistic than the original killbox or any remakes I've seen online,

made killbox so famous and for the purpose of testing that, I'm releasing
this first beta (and hopefully the only beta).

A smallish map designed for 8-10 people, possibly more. 3 main warehouses provide the main choke points, while its easy to catch someone off guard outside. This is my first attempt at a map.
Installation -
Place dm_industry.bsp in Half-Life 2 Deathmatch/hl2dm/maps and it will show up in the map list.
Known bugs -
Soundscape only seems to activate when you are outside, then it will carry on playing throughout.

Its been a while science Ive done any half-life based mapping but after
checking out the new things in the editor I found myself being sucked back
into it. Its been a while so I set myself the task of restoring a classic map
from the N64 days. I managed to pick up a N64 for 15 quid with Golden Eye
second hand.
I spent a lot of time playing Golden Eye to make sure things were geometrically
correct for the Half-Life 2 Death match version, visually I changed things a
little such as lighting and the textures. I hope to go on from this point and
add original spawn locations and weapon spawns. I have no intentions to add
any extras (more rooms ect ect) and to keep to the form of the original.
I don't know if anyones doing the same map and I apologies if I have stepped on
peoples toes in the process.

This map is a remake of the classic Half-Life Deathmatch level 'Gasworks', in full Half-Life 2 glory. Gasworks was originally made by Randy Lundeen, and was remade for Half-Life 2 Deathmatch by Sam Matthews. The following is the original IGN press release describing Gasworks for Half-Life Deathmatch:
Looking for a new level to spice up your Half-Life multi-player games? Take a look at this little beauty sent to us earlier today by Sierra. According to the folks over at Valve, this level, titled "Gasworks," is their favorite non-team level (apparently "Crossfire" is their favorite teamplay map). Designed by Randy Lundeen, Gasworks was designed with the sniper and the crossbow in mind. The description we received along with the level says it all, "The environment contains many open spaces, tall perches and catwalks from which to 'snipe' unsuspecting players. Keep in mind, these advantageous sniping points are vulnerable to tau cannon, rpg, and crossbow fire." Obviously walking around out in the open without the aforementioned weaponry is a death sentence, and if you play a full match, you'll see people dropping like flies who forget. Gasworks is designed to be played by eight to 24 players. Enjoy!!

To start off, this map is a big map to move around and throw grenades at one another.

To be fair and to have a fun, please don't use the weapons such as Pistol and sub-machinegun. just so you don't get kicked from admin and not to tick off other players who play the map right. Soon there will be version where you only spawn with gravity gun. That will be in v2.

@Arkshine: de_basalt is a whooping 462M, it won't go down below 250M even with ultra compression, it uses a ton of models and has a large out of bounds area, it's not your normal CSGO map no, but it's an official map, its CS2 version is even larger reaching 2GB but that's irrelevant since the site doesn't have a CS2 category
